The Soundtrack to My Life (No. 3)

Funny how I am already on my third part to this series… This series is just so easy for me to pump out. If you want to know what this series is all about, read my quick explanation here.

I promise I’ve been taking more time to brainstorm future blog posts outside of this series! Writer’s block is real. This blog is my baby and I am over the moon that you, fellow reader, are back to read what I love to share. I made this one slightly longer to make up for not posting this past August.

Thank you for coming back to this series! Who knows, maybe you’ll find yourself in this post :’)

Every time I hear these songs, this is what I think of.

Let’s chat about the soundtrack to my life (No. 3).

The song that makes me feel all sorts of emotions all at once—I must play this song on max volume (and if I am in the car, the windows must be down and the sunroof must be open):

“Waste A Moment” by Kings of Leon

The song that always reminds me of my soul sister, Krystal:

“Sunday Candy” by Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment

The song that Peter played when we were studying at Orbach library but we were barely studying because 1. the music was too good and 2. we talked too much (this artist always reminds me of him now—I was HOOKED on offonoff for a good while…haha thanks Peter):

“Good2me (Feat. PUNCHNELLO)” by offonoff

The song that played in the car with Pauline as we drove the jeep with the top and windows down with the weather sunny and sweet:

“West Coast Love” by Emotional Oranges

The song that played at Koo Club in Santorini that got me playing it continuously throughout the rest of our Europe trip in May (I seriously love this song):

“Desce Pro Play (PA PA PA)” by ZAAC, Anitta, Tyga

The song that Meagan makes everyone shut up for whenever it’s on, drives circles on our street (which, by the way, is a cul-de-sac…), and keeps her fingers on the lock button to keep me from trying to leave the car…just so I can hear her scream every word to this entire song…AND album:

“happier” by Olivia Rodrigo

The song that reminds me of Kyu-hwan singing his heart out to because he knows every damn word to this song:

“dec 11th” by Giveon

The song and music video that played every morning at 6 A.M. on Nickelodeon commercial breaks in 2011, as Meagan and I ate cereal half asleep before getting ready for school. This song played so much to the point where it was almost weird if we didn’t hear it at least once to start our day. We were so sick of it…but tell me why we still sat there watching it every morning:

“It Girl” by Jason Derulo

The song that Sai started shamelessly singing so loud in public at a bus stop in Trastavere after dinner:

“Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor

The song that played in the car with Jeff and Matt after a VSA social event and I could not stop listening to it after this night:

“Patty Cake” by Kodak Black

The song that reminds me of my fourth grade best friend, Katrina. We discovered—and became obsessed with—this song later in middle school because One Direction covered it at their concerts:

"Teenage Dirtbag” by Wheatus

We’ve reached the end of part three.

I have linked all the songs for you to get a better image and feel of the memory being shared. And yes, all the song links are through Spotify… If you don’t use Spotify, we’re going to have to have a conversation about that another time.

I will never get tired of rolling through memory lane. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did writing it, and maybe some of these songs triggered some nostalgia for you, too :’)

Thank you for tuning into this series! It means the world to me.
